Victorian
Building Commission –
I & J Management Services developed a
comprehensive analytical framework to support the Commission’s Industry Outcomes
Measurement strategy. Through consultation with industry stakeholders the
project identified and documented the information required to monitor the
quality of building, the attractiveness of the industry to participants,
consumer satisfaction and the Commission’s leadership role. The 'Pulse' website was launched in April 2004 and
provides free access to up to date information on the Victorian building
industry. (2002 to 2004).

Office
of Training and Tertiary Education – I & J Management Services developed a
performance measurement framework and outcome-based performance measures for the
Learning Technologies Branch. Over 2 years we collected data from
TAFE colleges,
teachers and students to monitor the impact of the Branch’s support for the
adoption of flexible learning. (1999 to 2002)

Australian National Training Authority
– I & J Management
Services worked with the Flexible Learning Advisory group to develop indicators
for the uptake, use and impact of e-learning in the vocational education and
training sector. It then conducted four national baseline surveys of e-learning,
canvassing attitudes of employers, VET students, teachers and registered
training organisations. A series of national workshops assisted VET
practitioners to implement benchmarking activities in their organisations.

Building Industry Consultative Council – I
& J Management Services worked with the Building Commission and the
Victorian Building to Commission to develop a Building Industry Comparative
Index that compares the cost and risk of major commercial building
activities in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and WA. (2004 to 2005)
Department of Education, Science and Training
– I & J Management Services and Atelier Learning Solutions developed an
outcome-focused Performance Reporting Framework for the Australian
Government Quality Teacher Programme. The Framework lists outcome measures
that will be used to determine the extent to which the programme equips
teachers for teaching and learning in the 21st century. A detailed
implementation manual provides practical guidance on data collection and
management reporting for all state and territory education agencies. (2005)
Program Evaluation
Australian National Training Authority
– I & J Management Services
has conducted many evaluations of programs associated with the Australian
Flexible Learning Framework. The Framework supports the adoption of e-learning
in vocational education and training through the provision of flexible learning
resources, professional development activities, strategy and policy leadership
and communication services. This included a major evaluation of the Framework
1999-2004 which assessed the impact of the Framework and assessment of the case
for or against future national investment in e-learning. (2003 to 2004)

program that supports community groups to get online, develop a web presence and
use online technologies for member communication and promotion. (2003-04)
Statistical Analysis
Telstra – I & J Management Services provides ongoing statistical and
analytical support to management of Telstra Care’s OHS audit program.
Department of Employment and Workplace Relations – I & J Management Services
supported Bryan Bottomley & Associates in their analysis of occupational health
and safety outcomes for the national comparative performance monitoring program.
Two separate projects have been undertaken looking at the drivers of OHS
performance in the aged care sector and building industry. (2002 and 2003)

National Occupational Health and Safety
Commission –
I & J Management Services analysed information from the National Coroners
Information Service to identify trends in workplace accidents involving falls
from heights. The findings were used in the review of national OHS standards for
managing work at heights. (2004)
National Occupational Health and Safety
Commission –
I & J Management Services is working with the Review of the National
Occupational Health And Safety Certification Standard For Users And Operators Of
Industrial Equipment to identify trends in the rate of injuries and fatalities
involving plant and equipment in each state and territory over the past 10
years. (2005)
Australian Safety and Compensation Council
– I & J Management Services analysed information from the National Coroners

national building and construction industry. The findings were used in the

Business and Information
Planning
Sport
and Recreation Victoria – I & J Management Services undertook a research
project to identify the use of information and communications technology (ICT)
in sport and recreation organisations in Victoria. A survey of 600
community-based sporting groups (large and small, metropolitan and country,
IT-savvy and IT-shy) and interviews with many community groups led to strategic
recommendations on opportunities for SRV to monitor and enhance the efficient
and appropriate uptake of ICT by sporting clubs. (2001)

Community Support Fund – I & J Management Services developed an information
and intelligence sharing framework for community building in Victoria. Based on
consultation with community groups and state and local government agencies the
framework recommended establishment of a clearinghouse of information resources
and provision of local data support for community groups. (2001)
Holden
– I & J Management Services provides financial and business advice on
development and implementation of the Holden MasterCard, one of Australia’s
leading co-branded credit cards. (1998 to 2003)
National Information and Library Service (NILS)
- I & J Management Services worked with NILS to develop a scoping brief for its
new Digital Service Delivery Model for people with a print disability. Through
research of international models and local client and business imperatives, we
helped NILS to better understand the enablers and drivers for change, the
technological and operational challenges to be faced, service delivery options
and a timetable for transformation.
State Library of Victoria
– I & J Management Services reviewed the Victorian Public Library Network’s
Statewide Training Project and provided recommendations on future funding of the
program through a collaborative model blending fixed and user-pays components.

Flexible Learning Advisory Group – I & J
Management Services worked with FLAG to develop the 2006 Business Plan for
the Australian Flexible Learning Framework. Senior state and territory
officials met periodically over three months to scope and refine the
business plan and allocate the Framework budget. (2005)
Community Strengthening
Department for Victorian Communities
– I & J Management Services is one of four organisations delivering an
integrated program of initiatives through the Community Building Resource
Service. I & J Management Services is providing Local Data Support to
communities in Shepparton, Corio and Broadmeadows, including compilation of
community based employment data, support in development and conduct of community
surveys and skills audits, and training on the effective use of community data.

State Library of Victoria
– I & J Management
Services wrote a major series of research reports titled ‘Libraries Building
Communities’ that examined the role of public libraries in building social
capital. The suite of reports present examples of the ways in which Victoria’s
library network is contributing to the life of communities and providing
citizens with access to information and other services. (2004)
Guide to using Local Data – I & J
Management Services worked with the Department for Victorian Communities to
edit and update its Guide to Using Local Data, a valuable reference to
support planning for and analysis of local community strengthening
activities. An online version of the Guide was also produced.
Community-based training has also been provided to facilitate better use of
local data. (2004 to 2005)
