Ian Phillips

Position: Director, I & J Management Services

Experience:

Ian is one of Australia’s leading consultants on public libraries - having worked with national, state and territory, regional and municipal libraries on a wide range of planning and review projects.

Ian established I & J Management Services in 1998 to provide consulting services to enable clients to better access and use qualitative and quantitative information to support their strategic, tactical and operational decision-making.

Ian has considerable research experience, and has led around 60 reviews and evaluations for government agencies in relation to educational outcomes, governance, professional learning, innovation and effective use of technology, community partnerships and workforce reform. Ian has also managed projects related to e-learning, community development, and industry programs. With qualifications in statistics Ian has specific expertise in data collection and statistical analysis, and performance measurement and indicators.

Ian has excellent written and verbal communication skills. He has authored many well-regarded project reports and presented to Ministers, senior corporate executives, program staff and community groups. Ian is an experienced project manager and facilitator with a track record of working collaboratively with clients to efficiently achieve consulting outcomes on time and on budget.

Jacqui Phillips

Position:

Senior Consultant, I & J Management Service

Experience:

Jacqui taught science and mathematics in a Catholic secondary school for eight years before joining I & J Management Services in 2005.

Jacqui has excellent analytical, client consultation, organisational and people management skills. She is our consultation and survey specialist, with expertise in developing a complementary blend of formal and informal data collection methods. Jacqui manages all of our survey development, administration and analysis work – including small scale surveys and those with more than 10,000 responses.

Jacqui has extensive experience in facilitating conversations with library users and staff and observing library services. Jacqui has an effective way of engaging with people that generates confidence and trust.
